Modeling & Animation

I love the idea of world building and making unique experiences through art and design, which is why a video game concept was a perfect way to put a cap on my time at PFW. I created a side scrolling video game concept called Curio, where the player gets to choose a host in the world to take control of and begin an adventure of interconnected paths based on the player’s choices.

The main goal of the project was to present the player with moral choices throughout the game that would create dynamic, intersecting paths in a fun and creative way.

Some of those choices can be seen on the arcade cabinet I designed and constructed to help tell the story of the game.

The iterative process of creating this project challenged me in many ways and helped establish a strong discipline for learning and using multiple programs toward one goal.

My project won 1st place in Modeling & Animation at the 2012 PFW BFA Exhibition.

There’s hope that one day, either myself or my kids, will take the concept and make a fully realized and functional game out of it.
